Description by Grade :
Flag - Grade: 2nd/3rd & 4th
This is an introduction to flag with the sole purpose of teaching kids the fundamentals of football. Our goal is for the kids to learn how to be safe, understand teamwork, learn the game, have fun, and want to return to play football the following season. They wear a full uniform.
Tackle - 5th/6th: Junior Varsity & Varsity
This is an introduction to contact/tackle football with the sole purpose of teaching kids the fundamentals. Our goal is for the kids to learn how to be safe, learn the game, have fun, and want to return to play football the following season.
7th/8th: Junior Varsity & Varsity
This is an instructional contact/tackle team where we begin to emphasize healthy competition and continue to have fun. It is the regular season record of the 7/8 Team that determines the seeding / playoffs in the NVYFL state tournament.
Practices/Games:
Initially, in the last 2 weeks of August there will be a daily practice ( M-F early evening, some make ups on weekend) this will allow players to be eligible to play in the Football Jamboree. The **Jamboree is a series of scrimmages against other teams to help players get used to playing games.
After the initial practice period, team practices range from 2-3 per week ( this depends on their grade). They will have one game per week
Other Info:
Parents are welcomed to stay for practice or drop off. Whatever you are most comfortable with.
